**Miso Shipping Policy during the Summer Months**
Miso is a refrigerated product and must be handled properly to insure its quality.
- Between April 15th and October 15th all small miso orders shipping unrefrigerated must ship
out on a Monday to avoid sitting in warm warehouses over the weekend.
- All customers take full responsibility for unrefrigerated shipping miso during warm months.
- Orders must ship either 2 or 3-day UPS unless your normal delivery time is 3 days or less.
- UPS Shipping charges are calculated by weight and distance from Great Eastern Sun
Miso has a long shelf life, and therefore we encourage all of our customers to ‘stock up’ on
miso during the winter months so that transport needs during warmer months are diminished.
Great Eastern Sun recommends miso be shipped refrigerated year round. Miso is an unpasteurized product and must be handled properly to insure quality. Unrefrigerated shipping of miso may compromise the quality of the miso. Customers requesting unrefrigerated freight must take full responsibility for the quality of miso on their order.
It is acceptable, however, to ship small orders of miso unrefrigerated during the winter months. This includes web customers and small wholesale orders. All unrefrigerated miso orders must ship on Monday, and customers requesting unrefrigerated freight must take full responsibility for the quality of the miso on their order.
Larger transport (200 pounds or more) of miso requires refrigeration at all times, regardless of the season, due to the increased value of large orders.
PLACING YOUR ORDER:
Browse and shop our on line catalog. When you find items that interest you, adjust the quantity from 0 to the amount that you would like to purchase. When you have completed your selections on a particular product category page, press the “Add to Order button”. You may now review the purchases in your virtual shopping cart, delete selected items, change quantities, do some more shopping, or check out your order.
Shipping Info: When checking out either with “Pay By Credit Card” or “Pay By Check” you will move to the UPS Destination Page where you will enter your country, state, and zip code information. Our shopping cart is in direct communication with UPS in order to receive the correct shipping rates for your order. When ready, click “continue” to go to the next page. On the UPS Shipping Options Page you may choose the type of delivery service that best suits your needs.
Checking Out: Click “continue” to go to the Final Order Totals Page. On this page you must complete all three steps to finalize your order. Step One: enter your billing and mailing information. Step Two: enter your name and credit card information along with any comments or questions you wish to express. Step Three: submit your order by clicking the “Submit Secure Order” button. On the next and final Receipt Page your order details will be displayed in its entirety. You may print this page and keep it as your hard copy receipt. Please note that a minimum order of $15 is necessary. We accept Visa, Master Card, Discover, and American Express. For orders within the Continental U.S. we use UPS GROUND. For this reason we request a normal street address, no P.O. Box addresses please.
Credit Card Security: Rest assured, shopping with Great Eastern Sun is entirely safe. Before your credit card information leaves your computer, it is encrypted using the highest levels of encryptions available.
Damage Claims: Please report damage claims immediately to UPS. Do not return damaged goods to us.
Returns & Credits: Please make requests for returns of merchandise for any reason other than those listed above within 3 days of receiving product. Returned items must be in their original cartons, and must be in sellable condition. Please obtain prior approval before returning any merchandise. Our customers assume responsibility for freight costs on returns of non-defective merchandise.
Price Fluctuations: Many of our items are imported. Thus as the dollar fluctuates versus the yen and other foreign currencies, we must reserve the right to change prices without notice. These price changes, either up or down, will be minor.
Back Orders: If any items are out of stock at the time that your order ships, these will not automatically be backordered. Any out of stock items will need to be re-ordered once they are back in stock again.
How We Ship: Please be aware that all orders received after 10 am will be processed the following day. If your order is received after 10 am on a Friday, your order will not ship until the following Monday. We do not process orders over the weekend. Thank you for your understanding.
