Tamari & Sesame Vinaigrette

Yield 1.5 cups

Essentially a Chinese Chicken Salad dressing, this soy-based vinaigrette livens up everything from romaine lettuce to grilled bok choy to half an avocado.

Ingredients

  • juice of 1 ½ medium lemons
  • 3 tablespoons tamari (gluten-free soy sauce)
  • 2 tablespoons coconut sugar
  • ½ cup + 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon + 1 ½ teaspoons toasted sesame oil
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

1. Whisk together all ingredients and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Chef Tom's Miso Dressing

Yield Cups

Organic Chef Tom's Miso Dressing has been a favorite for the past 27 years. It’s super simple to prepare and simply delicious. Enjoy on your favorite fresh organic garden salads, whole grain and veggie dishes and bean or tofu salads!

Instructions

Blend all ingredients in blender or food processor until creamy smooth. Store in glass jar in refrigerator.

Chef Tom has been cooking natural foods for over 39 years. He cooked in natural restaurants across the USA, including the East West Cookery in New York City, 7th Inn in Boston, The Unicorn in Miami and his own restaurant The Garden Cookery in Maine before moving his family to the beautiful city of Asheville, North Carolina.

Miso Islands Salad Dressing

Yield 1 3/4 cups

Dress your favorite fresh garden salad with this sweet Miso Islands Salad Dressing made with our Miso Master Organic Mellow White Miso.

Ingredients

  • 1 zucchini, sliced
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup Miso Master Organic Mellow White Miso  
  • 1 Tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • ½ Tbsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp fresh grated horseradish root
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp pickle relish

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine the first five ingredients and blend well. 
  2. Then mix in remaining ingredients by hand. 
  3. Serve over a green salad or in a Turkey Reuben sandwich, and enjoy!

Tofu Avocado Dressing

Tofu Avocado Miso Dressing

Yield 2 Cups

This fresh dressing is perfect for topping your favorite fresh summer salads.

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1/3 block fresh tofu
  • ¼ cup Miso Master Organic Mellow White Miso
  • 1/3 - 1/2 cup water
  • ¼ cup unrefined olive oil
  • ½ cup brown rice Vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp onion, chopped
  • 1-2 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1/4 cup minced parsley

Instructions

  1. Blend all ingredients, except parsley, until smooth.
  2. Add a little more water if necessary to achieve desired consistency.
  3. Mix parsley in with a spoon and serve with salads, vegetables, or as a dip.
