Vegan Cheesy Spread

Vegan home chef, Justin Weber is the popular creator of Crow Moon Kitchen.  Justin created this tasty Vegan Cheesy Spread using our soy-free Miso Master Organic Chickpea Miso. Enjoy with your favorite crackers, bread, rice cakes or pretzels. YUM!



15 ounces chickpeas, peeled
1/4 cup Miso Master Organic Chickpea Miso
2 tsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp vegan Worcestershire
1/2 cup chopped carrot, boiled
1 Tbl avocado oil
1 Tbl nutritional yeast
1/2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp kosher salt


  1. Peel the chickpeas to ensure a more smooth texture.
  2. Boil the chopped carrot until soft. Drain, rinse to cool, and process with all of the ingredients until smooth using a high speed blender or food processor. Avoid adding water because you want this to be thick.
  3. Enjoy immediately or refrigerate for even better flavor!


When we first read Justin’s instructions to “Peel the chickpeas…”, we imagined pulling skins off of each chickpea by hand. Thankfully, he created this handy little tutorial video on how to peel the outer skin off of chickpeas by shaking them in a mason jar with some water!
